Dubrovnik City Tour – 4-5 hours

  • Pick up at the port then driving alongside Bay of River of Dubrovnik, passing Renaissance summer estates of Dubrovnik nobility and our Dubrovnik Yacht Marina safely situated at the bay’s end.
  • After cruising past Marina, we would be driving up to the slopes of Srdj mountain, stopping at 2 spectacular view points (only private tours go to the slopes of the mountain Srdj, while all big coach tours stop at much lower and further view point sites).
  • After marveling the beauty of the Old City of Dubrovnik, island of Lokrum and overall panorama (from Srdj one can see Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as Montenegro), we continue south to the most southern Croatian region of Konavle.
  • Passing alongside small tourist villages of Zupa Dubrovacka, all destroyed in Croatia’s Homeland War (1991-1992) but all rebuilt and their beauty restored we arrive to small medieval city of Cavtat (once the city of rich ship-owners and captains, today a favorite destination for world’s yacht jet set) where our group would stroll through its center, stop for coffee or ice cream and than drive back to Dubrovnik. In Cavtat we will also visit Our Lady of the Snow church with stunning Renaissance paintings created by local masters.
  • Following Cavtat we would drive towards Old City of Dubrovnik where you would walk its streets with one of our licensed guides visiting all major sites and hearing all the important stories of its past and present (Dubrovnik city tour described in details below)

**DUBROVNIK CITY TOUR: Our normal private walking tour lasts around 1- 1,5 hours. During this time the tour would covers all major sites in the Old City (Franciscan and Dominican church and monastery, Great and Small Onofrio’s fountain, Main Street – Stradun, Orlando’s Column, Bell Tower, Sponza Palace, Rector’s Palace, Old Farmers’ Market, Cathedral, St. Blasé church, 15.ct. Old City Port). During the tour we do our best to present you with history and contemporary life in Dubrovnik starting from 7.ct through more than its 1300 years fighting for its independence, protecting its freedom through sieges, disease, natural disasters and wars all to the last war in 1991-1995. Since all of guides are from Dubrovnik, 3 of us from the old city, we can best describe you the life of Dubrovnik today and 30 years ago, but also to give you insight of what people do, our customs, celebrations, economy and cuisine.

Itinerary: (Example)

  • Our tour begins with you meeting our guide at Pile gate
  • Walk through the stone paved streets of Pile district to get a magnificent view to Lovrjenac fortress (multiple scenes staged) with intro to the medieval city of Dubrovnik and its relation with Kings Landing – be a part of Joffrey’s Name-day celebration…
  • Leaving the Pile tour passes next to the site of King Robert’s bastards slaying and Myrcella’s port of departure to Dorne
  • In the small harbor of Kolorina you can sit on a ship berth where Sansa used to sit listening to Littlefinger’s tails and plots looking at distant sea searching for a way back home…
  • Passing Pile bridge tour continues through the gates Jaime used when he came back from the North and where mob rebelled against King Joffrey – your guide took active role in this one! – you will hear about most amusing bits from the movie set.
  • Through narrow streets of the Old City you will reach Littlefinger’s Brothel and remember what Tyrion and Oberyn did there!
  • Head straight to the one of the most interesting scenes shot in entire series and see where Cercei did her Walk of Shame.
  • Walking through the main street of Dubrovnik across kingdoms to the magical city of Qarth (Rector’s Palace) visiting scene where Daenerys asks Spice King for ships to take her army across the Narrow Sea.
  • Passing through the Old medieval harbor, the tour continues through the Market Place where multiple scenes were filmed (Tyrion learns about wild fire, mob finds out about Joffrey’s true parents, Walk of Shame continues…)
  • Tour ends at the Revelin Square where Walk of Shame ends overlooking the Island of Lokrum (scenes from Qarth and Tower of Undying) and Zarkovica Hill (Desert of Khal Drogo’s doom)
